ECOSYSTEMS. GREEN ROOF

We created three models showcasing how a green roof works: an example of the system and how it could be incorporated in our school. A green roof is a type of roof that has a vegetated top layer with multiple layers underneath it which improves its strength, waterproofing ability, and longevity. Its main purpose is to reduce CO2 emissions and help the environment. We created the models in a group of 4 people using accessible materials we could buy at a local hardware store. Two of the models were made in plastic boxes, one had the layers separated to showcase what it is made of and the other one was to show it working. The third and final model was a scaled-down version of our school made of cardboard and paper with a green roof. With these three models, we hope to show the possibility of incorporating a green roof into our school.
